Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
Chapter 3, page 37, item 11 is the fan part number you need.
Fan for use with HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC computer models HP part # 765788-001
The fan is not orderable from HP, so the only suggestion I can offer would be to do a search by the HP fan part number on eBay or Amazon and see if you can find one for sale.

Mr Tikkanen, your reply was complete and extremely helpful. Many thanks. I have ordered the part.
your help prompts me for two more questions please - if you are able to further help.
1. How can I replace the fan - also is it something. I can do or go to a repair shop
2. my above notebook pc HP Pavilion 17 - f012na gives me a message that the internal battery 601 needs to be replaced. Is it the same battery that is detachable at the back or some other battery ? And part no pls.
immense thanks in advance

You're very welcome, Dilip.
Chapter 6 of the service manual I posted for you yesterday has the fan removal and replacement procedure.
There is a second battery inside the notebook called a Real Time Clock (RTC) which is also called a CMOS battery.
That is a small battery which maintains the clock and BIOS settings.
The part number for that can be found in chapter 3, page 37, item 12.
RTC battery HP part # 697917-001
Doing a search of the part number, it appears to be nothing more than a standard CR2032 coin cell battery that you can buy just about anywhere you can buy batteries.
Unfortunately, removing and replacing the RTC battery will be harder than replacing the fan since you will have to remove the motherboard to get to it according to chapter 6 of the service manual.
It will be up to you if you want to do the work yourself or take it to your local PC repair shop to have the parts replaced.
Cheers,
Paul
