Hello there,

 

I purchased an Omen gaming desktop this past week at Best Buy. When I spoke to their support team initially, they confirmed that a Thunderbolt 3 card would be compatible with the included motherboard (Hana SSID: 8876 / Chip: B550). However, I am unable to locate any schematic of the motherboard to locate a Thunderbolt Header to install the PCIe. I purchased an ASUS ThunderboltEX 3 to add-on but I don't believe it is compatible since I was unable to find 1) thunderbolt header, 2) an additional 6-pin power source. I am wondering if I'm missing something or if this specific PCIe card is not the one for this motherboard, and if so, which one would be supported.

@cgi89 , welcome to the Community.

 

HP no longer provides motherboard diagrams with their Product Specifications.  Therefore, it is difficult for us to tell you which connectors are on the Hana motherboard.  I believe that it is doubtful that they would include a separate header and 6-pin power connector for a Thunderbolt add-on card.  This is based on my previous experience with HP motherboards.
