The parts list for your PC indicates that HP installed a DDR4-2666 MHz memory chip in your PC.

HP PartSurfer

The i3-8100 processor can only run the memory at a max speed of 2400 MHz, but the i5 and i7 8th gen core processors can run the memory at 2666 MHz.

I recommend this 8 GB memory chip for your PC:

Crucial 8GB DDR4 2666 MT/s (PC4-21300) UDIMM 288-Pin Memory - CT8G4DFRA266 at Amazon.com

Not sure if this makes any difference but an HP analysis of my system shows that I have an TP01-3025t PC  with an i5 Intel Processor and two 4GB memory cards not one 8GB. I appreciate the recommended upgrade card, however Amazon is not carrying the model you recommended. Is there a different brand you would suggest? Would I want to add one 8GB for a total of 12GB or a 16 GB (would that be too much?)

Yes, it makes a big difference.

Below is the link to the parts list for your PC:

HP PartSurfer

It comes with an Intel i5-12400 processor and 2 x 4 GB of DDR4-3200 CL22 memory.

No matter what you do, you will have to remove one of the 4 GB memory chips in order to upgrade the memory.

I recommend two of these:

Crucial 8GB DDR4-3200 UDIMM | CT8G4DFRA32A | Crucial.com

Thanks for the feedback. I have ordered two 8GB Crucial Memory Modules as you suggested from B&H. Waiting for delivery early next week. Will let you know if this solves my problem with my VideoStudio software crashing.

You're very welcome.
