USB ports

HP Recommended
HP pavilion 590-p0030

I just bought  my desk top tower, I am having a problemwith the 6 USB ports in the back.

1- The keyboard stops working, I switch the USB cord to a different port and it works for a day or two then I have to change it again.

2- The speakers also have the same problem.

Is the problem in the USB ports?

I need help, should I return the desktop and ask for a different one or is something that could be fixed?

@Jamal48 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues with USB ports.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Please perform the USB port test on the component test and let us know the result.

1. Power off the PC and make sure that it is completely powered off.

2. Press the power button and the moment you press the power button immediately start tapping F2 key, you should see the system diagnostics screen.

3. Look for the component test, under that all the hardware will be listed, please choose USB and initiate the quick test.

Note: If it fails it will generate a 24 digits alphanumeric failure id, please capture that.

If the test is passed, please uninstall the drivers from the device manager and update the BIOS.
