Has anyone upgraded their stock liquid cooler for a 40L? From what I've heard these omen pcs are much different than other desktops and a lot of things don't fit correctly? I'm a little worried about finding something that will fit and also concerned if upgrading my CPU cooler will mess up my warranty.
120 mm RGB liquid cooler is my current cooler,
2 x 120 mm RGB front fans
My i7 13700k has been running at 50c while idling when I first startup for the day and is usually very loud. On HWinfo software it has spiked to 93 and 97c at as the maximum.

Greetings @hanna_patton
Welcome to the HP Forum.
I have never worked with the 40L case. Check this HP video for 40L component removal/replacement procedures.
You could also try a Windows balanced power plan if you are using a high performance plan.
And/or replace the CPU thermal paste to see if this helps. Then reinstall the HP pump to the CPU.
I would say it may be possible to install a retail CPU liquid cooler in the 40L. Possibly even a 240 mm cooler by mounting the radiator at the top of the case. You would have to verify this option exists. A 240 mm rad up front may also be possible. But I think the front bezel is glass so you would have: zero or limited airflow to the radiator..
A basic retail 120 mm liquid cooler at the back of the case should work. However, it looks like there is no easy access to the back of the MB without removing the MB from the case to install the MB backplate most Intel CPU coolers require.
The new liquid cooler would probably have to be a basic component; no fancy ARGB stuff which requires software and a USB 2.0 connection to the MB.
I could not provide more detail since I am not familiar with the 40L case and MB. You might be able to do ARGB and other stuff. I can't make this call without having examining the MB and the case.
