would like to upgrade ram to 8gb but dont know where card slot is.

The removal and installation of RAM module requires the technician to pry open the case.  For the task, read this limited manual.   According to the HP info page, that unit has an AMD processor, with a single module. But according to the memory replacement guide, there is a disparity. Read it.  Then verify which processor you have, and then decide.     Crucial has this 8GB replacement.  If you not inclined to pry it open just to find out, download this: CPUID  (memory/speed) and BelArc Advisor. It will also verify # of slots.
