I have Hp Envy Desctop with Baker Motherboard

I decided to ugrade my i5-10400 to I7-10700

 

So i bought box version I7-10700. And LOOK ....

 

I can’t install it!!!

 

look at the cutouts on the sides - they do not match!!

 

What i have to do )))

Both processors you show are Intel Comet lake with the same pin configuration.

 

If the  i7-10700 does not fit and you can still fit the i5-10400 back in the processor socket, that rules out a processor socket issue

 

There has to be a physical problem with the  i7-10700 processor that you bought.
