Upgrading HP desktop

Hello, I have a older hp desktop I’m trying to tinker around with. It has a 2820h (xu1 processor) motherboard with a q33 chipset. Has a intel core 2 duo with 8Gb ram. I’m trying to get this pc to be able to stream in HD without lag to twitch/YT LIVE. More less trying to bring it up to gaming capability’s. I know it prolly won’t ever be able to reach that but I’m going to get it the best I can! Does anyone know how I should go about this? Should I upgrade the whole motherboard or just the cpu? If I were to let’s say, just upgrade cpu, what would be the best cpu compatable with my motherboard? A intel quad core? And if I were to be able to get a new motherboard & cpu, can I use my existing hardware or would I have to buy all new everything?

I’m new to all this, so any light shed on the topic will be greatly appreciated! Tried other forums with no avail, I know reddit can get the job done. Thanks again, I appreciate you taking the time to help a noob out!

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

The Intel Q33 chipset is about eleven years old.

Sinking money into this aging platform would not be cost effective.

You would be better served by spending the money on a new HP PC.
