OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 880-160se CTO
Microsoft Windows 11

I was replacing my front-facing 120mm fan a few days ago and after a short dusting and connector check on the Mother Board I noticed that the assembly on my vertically standing Bios Chip assembly seemed crooked. I have not removed it from its mounting in some time and went to reset it ( As I routinely do when installing any system component or device), but I noticed that the chip was not only well seated (as it should be) but that the plastic/rubber clamps holding it firmly in place felt weird (like they were somehow brittle or stuck to the chip??) I went to carefully remove the chip and found that the wiring mounting the assembly to the board was loose. I immediately stopped messing with the bios chip and started looking for answers.  Two days ago, I tried getting a closer look without touching the assembly thinking (what a terrible design flaw!) I found that the thin wiring keeping it mounted to the board itself had already broken free of the motherboard. I closed up my PC, stood it back up and heard something sizeable hit the bottom of the case, inside. It was the Bios Chip, assembly and all, apparently a quick exam was just too much and it gave up all pretense of looking normal.

My PC had just run out of warranty 5 days ago and up until now, showed no signs of wear.  Is this a "fixable repair or replace the motherboard " kind of problem?

I doubt HP proper is willing to lend me a hand with this so I'm relying on the greater wisdom of those in this community to assist me. And -If you can - give me an idea of what it will cost me in either option??
