Hello,

i have this System:

Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-2208ng with a 4060TI GPU Card.

Is it possible to upgrade the GPU to a actual Nvidia 5060TI 16GB?

This new GPU has also a 8Pin Powerconnector and needs also 8* pciexpress. Compatible with the System?

Thanks for your help.

@Whitehorse1979,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

You raised an excellent question.

According to the specs, it shows that your Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-2208ng (9U2S7EA) as fitted with the RenoR2 motherboard (SSID: 8B3B) is powered by a 400-watt power supply.

Your current graphics card, an HP OEM RTX 4060 Ti 8GB has a 160-watt TDP, whereas an RTX 5060 Ti has a 180-watt TDP.

Yes, an RTX 5060 Ti is very much compatible with your PC -just watch its size (especially length) for fit inside your case.  I would recommend a smaller-sized (dual fan) model.

Point is, in my opinion it looks to me that HP already underpowered your system with this 400-watt power supply, and by adding an additional 20+ watt may be pushing it too much.

Why would I think so?  -Well, the minimum power supply industry leaders recommend for either card is 550-watt, but I think you will be fine with a quality 500-watt power supply.

It so happens that there is a compatible 500-watt power supply available for your PC, with p/n: L89233-001 / L89233-005 / L77487-001 / L77487-003.

I would strongly recommend that you upgrade your power supply to a 500-watt power supply, especially if you were to upgrade your graphics card to an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB.

You can purchase one of these fine power supplies online for less than $59, such as shown by this trusted eBay-US Seller: New 500W PSU Power Supply L77487-001 L89233-001 FOR HP 280 G8 Pro Z2 L77487-003 | eBay.

Kind Regards,
