Hi, in my Pavilion m9080.it which, after appropriate updates to Ram (8GB) and SSD still worked very well as a support PC, the video card broke.
Due to the age of the machine and the use I make of it (Office applications, Autocad, occasionally Photoshop and Premiere for non-professional use) I was considering products like ASUS GeForce GT 710 2 GB DDR5 or ASUS GeForce GT 1030 2 GB GDDR5.
Could you tell me if they are both compatible with my pc (the original card that broke was a GeForce 8500 GT), if the GT 1030 is worth the price difference or, better yet, if you have a product to suggest that, in that price range , offers a better price/performance ratio?

Thanks for your help

Hi:
Neither of those cards would be compatible because your PC has a legacy BIOS and those cards require a UEFI BIOS with a revision of 8.1x or higher.
You will need to buy a used but tested and working legacy graphics card.
I would suggest you play it safe and see if you can find another Nvidia 8500 GT on eBay.
