Can this SSD be used in a HP 700-327c?

Your machine has 3 bays for storage (for 3.5" HDD's). Its specs:

Probably you still 2 spare bays. Therefore YES, you can add 2.5" SSD to your computer.

 

I believe you wish to make your machine runs faster with SSD therefore my suggestion

 

(a) Clone existing HDD to new SSD,

(b) Remove HDD and install SSD onto old HDD bay,

(c) Run on SSD  only for few days or a week,

(d) Clean/format old HDD and put it back to the second bay for storage.

 

Because the bay is for 3.5" HDD and SSD is only 2.5", you need a caddy/adapter to allow 2.5" SSD to fit to 3.5" bay properly. For example

There are many around and can only be $3.
