Want to add an additional 2TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD card to my HP Envy Desktop.  Is there an extra slot on the motherboard to accommodate the drive?

Hi:

The product number you posted reveals multiple different model numbers.

HP PartSurfer

I randomly checked a few of those on the list, and they all seem to come with the Reno motherboard.

According to the motherboard specs, if your specific model PC came with a M.2 NVMe SSD, then the only M.2 SSD slot is filled.

Expansion slots

NOTE:
The configuration might vary depending on your model.
  • One PCI Express Gen 3.0 x16
  • One PCI Express Gen 3.0 x1
  • Two M.2 expansion slots
    • One M.2 socket 1, Key A            Occupied by the M.2 Wi-Fi adapter.
    • One M.2 socket 3, Key M, (2280/2242)     Occupied by the NVMe SSD if your PC came with one.

Paul,

Thanks for the quick reply. I did order via Amazon the additional SSD drive.  If it won’t work I’ll be able to return it.
Thanks again,

Mark

You're very welcome, Mark.

You can always remove the existing drive (it probably is not 2 TB) and install the HP EX900 Plus 2TB SSD in its place.
