Pavilion Desktop TP01-0050
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I upgraded to Windows 10 version 20H2 and for the first time since I bought this computer a year ago the warning WHEA-logger event 17  has gone.

So sorry.  It was gone for about an hour and now it is back.  So sad.

Hello, @mpw101 Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Keep me posted. Happy to help!

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

Click the “Kudos, Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Have a great day!

Been here, done that many, many times.

Event 17 on PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_8653103C&REV_16 has been all over Google results for years.  And on many makes and models and different brands.  I have posted here before.

BTW I still have a desktop and you still have a different HPSA than I do.  But I know mine is the latest version.

Here is the Warning in all its glory:

A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Component: PCI Express Endpoint

Error Source: Advanced Error Reporting (PCI Express)

Primary Bus: Device: Function: 0x1:0x0:0x0

Secondary Bus: Device: Function: 0x0:0x0:0x0

Primary Device Name: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_8653103C&REV_16

Secondary Device Name:

Thanks anyway.

Hi @mpw101,

We have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the notebook needs to checked taking remote access so that get to know it's a hardware or software issue.

I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.
