HP Slimline Desktop - 410-01
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to add a Dual or Four Port Intel Gigabit PCI-e x16 ethernet card to my HP Slimline Desktop - 410-01. My plan is to convert this into a Pfsense Router/Firewall, etc. Pfsense is much more reliable with Intel Network Cards. I would also need to disable the onboard RealTek Ethernet adapter.

I would greatly appreciate any recommendations and credible sources (want to avoid the fake cards out there).

TIA

Thank you for the additional information, @Jules-C!  This is perfect!

I did some checking to assure I got the best card for you.  Here are two that were recommended by StarTech:

ST4000SPEXI for 4 ports or a ST2000SPEXI for 2 ports.  They are commercial grade.  StarTech makes very high quality products.

If you don't want to buy from StarTech, I suggest that you find a manufacturer of your choice and contact their Tech Support for help with finding the best card for your system.  They are the Experts on their products.

Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

@Jules-C , welcome to the Community.

What is the Product Number of the computer? I need this information to review the specifications of it. Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information. You can find the Product Number at the bottom of the page when you open HP Support Assistant.
