Inane question for professionals, geeks, non-idiots (obviously I'm not one of these):
Recently completed Windows 10 upgrade; which got me curious about all the 'innards'.
Printed out my spec sheet & realized I have no clue which, if any, of these 'components'
need or can be upgraded (ie: microprocessor/memory/system board/HD drive/BIOS/etc).
Being techno-inept, I have no idea what some of these things on my list even mean/do?

Hello
is stupid only the one that does not ask a question!
If your pc is this one:
HP Pavilion Elite HPE-500f Desktop PC Product Specifications
you have some upgrade hints
Alvorix motherboard specifications.
- Dual channel memory architecture
- Four DDR3 DIMMs (240-pin) sockets
- PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066)
- PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
- Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
- Supports 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB DDR3 DIMMs
- Supports up to 16 GB on 64-bit systems
- Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit PCs*32-bit PCs cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.
That said, if your pc is working well enough and the need is not visible, there may be no need to change anything!
You can increase the RAM
the graphics card may not be the best, but replacing it may not be easy, recent models will certainly not work!
And it becomes more difficult to find old models!
whether to replace the elec power supply
What can be interesting is the installation of an SSD.

Thank you Promethee (the god or the band??)
This is EXACTLY why I come to Experts for answers/assistance/etc.
Have marginal awareness of every 3rd word of your answer (🤔)
but if I'm reading your advice correctly, "if it ain't broke, then keep
your techno-inept hands of it!!" If so, THAT is how I like advice!!
btw: working fine; just wanted to be sure running at optimum efficiency;
defrag/disc clean/router updates/etc help, just didn't want to be impeding
speed/capability/efficiency because various 'innards' need to be upgraded.
