I currently have both of my 8300 CMT's running Bios Version 3.07.

What might the benefit be to upgrading to Bios Version 3.08?

HP Compaq Elite 8300 Convertible Minitower PC Software and Driver Details

 

- Provides latest Intel Microcode versions 0x21 for Ivy Bridge processors and 0x2F for Sandy Bridge processors.

NOTE: Due to security changes, after loading this BIOS, older versions cannot be installed.

 

A processor microcode update might be helpful if you planned on installing an Intel i7-3770K processor or an Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2 or Intel Xeon E3-1275 V2 processor that were not offered in the 8300 Elite model series, but apparently work as is indicated by this userbenchmark report of thousands of 8300 Elite SFF PC's where the only difference is the form factor.
