What type (sata1, Sata 2, Sata 3) HDD do I have in my PC. Please explain the differences. Wondering if I can add a solid state drive?  TNX!!

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the parts list for your PC.

HP supplied it with a SATA 3 hard drive, so the hard drive controller would be SATA 3.

 

SATA 1 = 1.5 GB/S data transfer speed.

 

SATA 2 = 3.0 GB/S data transfer speed.

 

SATA 3 = 6.0 GB/S data transfer speed.

 

You cannot add a SSD to the PC in addition to the hard drive, but you can replace the 3.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD, however, you will need to buy a 3.5" to 2.5' drive adapter so the SSD can fit in the 3.5" drive bay.
