Elite 8300 CMT
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

When HP detects my PC, it says it's a 6300 BUT it's really an 8300 - WHY?

I have and have had many HP products.to include an HP 6300.

I am currently running an HP 8300.

Using the HP Assistant hardware detection, my 8300 is detected as a 6300 for whatever reason.

All my former and current HP products are listed in the Assistant.

Is it possible to completely clear out all the products and start again?

Hopefully, the Assistant would detect my 8300 as an 8300.

power on the  PC

hammer ESC key and go to bios Menu one ,called information

it tells you there what motherboard you have, and that is all the matters really .

I need the Device Drivers for  an 8300 not a 6300.

I need to have the HP Assistant acknowledge my PC is an 8300.

Once it does, the rest will easily follow.

no form factor size PC case told so I will show CMT sized./

if the PC has the wrong mobo.

that makes the service tag useless.

the cure is , ignore the tag

then go to hp.com

for 8300 MANUALLY

or google this is super simple here.

hp.com 8300 CMT drivers , see FIRST HIT.

if not a CMT but SFF or  USDT MINI,  change the search word.   omg even AIO size.  at least 4 PC here and mobo  change by

cases they fit.

click drivers

then tell it the OS you run and bingo your drivers are all there.

fresh load w10 and see what fails that go back to HP get those that do fail. if any.

I want to delete all the current and former PC and Printer definitions in the HP Assistant.

Simple, if I delete them all and have the Assistant re-scan, it will only find my HP-8300.

I do not believe anyone stole or installed the Motherboard.

The PC was purchased Online from a reputable HP Refurbisher.

How do I delete HP Products from the HP Support Assistant?

HP Recommended

I found where I could delete Product Profiles from the HP Support Assistant.

I deleted every Printer and PC I ever owned with one exception.

The Assistant refused to delete the PC that it was running on.

It of course is the misidentified 8300 CMT.

Does anyone have any ideas PLEASE?
