Okay i have never upgraded a pc and would like to know if my motherboard in the pc would support a 2060

You did not mention the exact model number. Why so coy?
The HP 690 series might have different motherboards, usually the LINCS or Sunflower is the common. That presents a problem for the LINCS based on the fact that "Dual Slot" cards like the RTX 2060 are long, and wide. These 2 dimensions are problematic !!! The Sunflower has room, but the issue is the PSU. Both are unique motherboard power headers requiring non-standard PSU. The RTX will require160W of additional power. Where are you going to find that power?
