hp Z420
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am inheriting a z420 ready to go but it does not have any ram. The processor is a E5-1650 v1 so it is one of the first generation. I need to buy ram and Crucial has kits. Can I get the fastest "1866" ? , it's the same price as the slower ram.

I know it runs it the models that use the v2 processors.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You could install 1866 MHz but automatically adjust to 1600 MHz because that is the FSB (front side bus) processor

Memory Types DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600
