z420
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I been searching and trying to find the right part number for the z420 second edition   The ones I see are over $300 so I don't know if those are the right ones. Does anyone have the correct part #? How do I tell if the spec sheets are the current revision? Where can I find the front fan for the z420?

Looking at the Z420 front;

I would suggest;

BR.JPG

HP Part No. 504941-200 or;

BR Slim.JPG

Though I'm not sure if you'll need an adapter for the slim version.

Regarding the front fan;

in terms of the front fan assembly, does it still fit with the 3.5 bay in it? Hmm, that slimline is not coming up on my end with that number. I wonder if it is super rare now?

Would this one slimline work?

I'm not sure how you would install a slim writer/player without some type of adapter? As a general rule, the slim drives are for laptops and a few low-profile desktops.
