Hello to all!

New member here!

I have a refurbished Z440 that I set up running debian 12 and it works like a charm. It is a great machine!

Today I was attempting to boot off of a USB stick to test another operating system and went into bios to choose the "boot from USB option". This worked fine and I was able to boot the usb under both legacy and UEFI mode.

Now on to the perplexing issue...during subsequent reboots the fan bolts to high (really loud) during the loading of the internal/installed OS (debian 12) and slows back to normal once OS is loaded. This just started today, right after the USB/OS test. Prior to this the machine booted so quietly I would have to look to see if the power button LED was on (prior to turning on monitor). Again, not a major problem rather just an abrupt change and I'm curious as to why. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks!
