DC7800 Convertible Minitower microcode works with intel core 2 duo e7400?

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the dc7800 Quickspecs.

 

HP Compaq dc7800 Business PC (usedcomp.de)

 

Page 9 has the list of supported processors.

 

The E7400 is not on the list of supported processors, so it may not work.

Quickspecs was released on October 29, 2008

 The microcode update was released on Dec 21, 2010

 

Could this update contain microcode for e7400?

It's possible.

 

Here is a discussion where I posted the steps for how to update the microcode...my solution is the first reply.
