compaq presario
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Compaq Presario desktop CQ3550IX. The motherboard is MS-7613 Inverness:

OS:  W10 64-bit

RAM: 8GB DDR3

I am trying to put a graphics card in the only PCIe x16 slot in the motherboard. Can I put a 4GB NVidia GTX graphics card in it? Will the DDR5 graphics cards work with this system?

@bp123987,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you wanted to know if you can upgrade the graphics card to 4GB NVidia GTX  DDR5.

As per the motherboard specifications, it will support to a maximum of 4GB DDR3 DIMM modules only. Hence you cannot use this graphics card.

You may check the Motherboard Specifications at the link: http://hp.care/2mMSIiX

You have a good day ahead.
