Hi all, want to go from win 7pro to win 10, but Im starting to think the pc won't handle it, cannot get it to install, by Microsoft as a upgrade or a clean installation with a DVD disc.. it loaded fine with xp, then with win 7 pro.. any thought's on if the pc can handle win 10? the Microsoft download for a comparability check even fails to install, other updates do install.. the pc has 4 Gb of ram, a 500 Gb HHD,

Because your unit is almost 15 years old, I would not do it.
HP only offers limited driver support for units within a 10 year service date.
