HP ENVY Desktop - 750-415

Hello, I recently bought two new 2x4 RAM sticks for my PC, as the previous ones were quite deteriorated and one of them was damaged. Everything is working fine with the new RAM, but I want to activate XMP to increase/improve performance, how could I do it? I have tried accessing the BIOS, but the option does not appear, what can I do?

My desktop: HP ENVY Desktop 750-415
My motherboard: Odense 2-S
BIOS version: F.45
Name of the new RAM: Patriot Viper DDR4 2666 MHz UDIMM 8GB (2x4) XMP 2.0 ready

Thanks btw!

@justAunknown,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Unfortunately, you can't access XMP in your desktop.  Your HP ENVY Desktop 750-415 (V9B09AA) as fitted with the Odense2-S motherboard with SSID: 828A, supports up to 2 x 16GB DDR4 PC4-17000, 2133 MHz RAM sticks. When you install higher clocked RAM such as 2666 MHz RAM, it will down throttle to 2133 MHz.  That is the fastest RAM speed you'll ever get.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
