Hi. I need to upgrade m. 2 ssd but I don't know if "x1pd" motherboard supports a nvme unit. Could you help me? Thanks in advance kind regards

You're very welcome, Gaetano.
The size of the SSD in the manual is just what HP offered in the 15-ak1xx model series.
You can go as high as 1 TB if you want.
Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for the base model 15-akxxx model series.
You can see from the report that they indicate 1 TB M.2 SATA SSD's are supported.

Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.
The M.2 slot supports SATA M.2 SSD's only, not NVMe.

Thanks Paul for your reply. Just one last question regarding the size of the SSD. The service manual mentions 256 gb as the largest ssd, obviously I can also mount a 1tb drive. Is this correct?
