omen hp 880-058
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am looking to upgrade my HP Omen 880-058 right now I have the following specs:

AMD Ryzen 5 1400

8gb ram @2400mhz

rx 550 2gb

Now I want to upgrade the cpu and i want to know if i would be able to upgrade to the Ryzen 5 2600 or better seeing as i am hopefully upgrading my graphics card, ram, and power supply soon.

Any help or suggestions on a different upgrade would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the spec page for that model

Click on the  Processor upgrade information tab to see the supported CPU info.

The Ryzen 5 2600 CPU is a second generation CPU which is not supported.

Under the  Memory upgrade information tab, you will see the RAM upgrade info.

As for upgrading the  AMD Radeon RX 550 - remaining in the  AMD Radeon RX 5** line should be doable.  Since the power supply is 300w, make sure the new graphics card can run in that requirement.  From the illustrated manual, it appears the power supply could be a normal ATX PS.  When you have the case opened to do any of the other upgrades get the dimensions for the existing PS and then go shopping for the wattage PS the new card requires.

Of course, if the CPU upgrade does not meet your expectations, then the rest is academic.
