I have an HP Pavilion tower a Desktop pc not sure which model but it's from 2014. but my printer a Brother network laser printer wants a machine password to update the drivers. How do I find that password, it says it on the back of the PC but I can't find it?

@heallingcode -- it probably is not a "machine password". Instead, it wants the password for the "Administrator" Windows account on your computer. If you are logged-on as a "Limited User", Windows restricts you from installing any software -- only an "Administrator" logon account can install software.
Or, if you are trying to connect the printer, via a WiFi network adapter inside the printer, you will need the SSID and the password for your WiFi setup. For most cable-modems, the SSID and network-key are on a label on the side of the cable-modem -- not on the side of the PC.

See maybe on the support side of your printer, if it corresponds to this for example:

these are just examples
see with them directly, depending on your model
