trying to reconnect the wiring between the motherboard and the hardware in the case. Also how do you remove the top hardware that has a headphone, Mic, and two SS UPS ports, to inspect the connection?

Hey there! @tazw, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand that you need to know how to connect the wiring between motherboard and hardware in the case.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Since you need to know how to connect wiring to the motherboard. It is not a customer replaceable part.

And it is not recommended to replace the parts by yourself as the warranty on your product might be voided.

However, you can refer this article to replace customer-replaceable parts.

Also, you can contact HP support and get the service options.

Link to contact HP.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

@tazw, Thanks for your response and time.

I'm afraid that is not an option.

We cannot share the steps since it is confidential and not customer replaceable part.

I would suggest you check for youtube videos for part replacement.

Or take it to an HP authorized service center and get the unit fixed.

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Eastern Asia (Taipei) computer case manufacturers generally follow the Intel Front I/O Standard

HP OEM cases generally follow the standard, with some proprietary connector usage.

Dell likes to use proprietary connectors on their motherboards and Front I/O on their cases.
