I am getting the following messages - Power surge on USB port

 - USB has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its hub port

I can clearly see that one USB port on the front of my desktop is broken.  I have disabled the front USB ports using BIOS Security and also done a hard reset of the computer yet am still getting these messages.  I am worried about even using the computer at all if I'm having power surges and would like to disable the broken USB port.

Can someone help please?

Hello
you receive this message even though nothing is connected, is that it?
The port being broken, there may be a short circuit.
Try to open the computer, and disconnect the usb port from the motherboard
If still the same message, you may have a problem other than this port

I double checked that I’m still getting the message with nothing connected.  I have opened the computer and looked at the broken USB.  It is soldered in.  How do I disconnect it from the motherboard?  Really appreciate the help!

you had written

" that one USB port on the front of my desktop is broken "

But if it's soldered to the motherboard, it's a rear port, right?
I did not understand or finally you have both broken?
Unfortunately if it is a soldered usb port, you will have to go see a specialist, I think to have it removed, why not repair!
Doing it yourself may be difficult and risky

It is a front USB port that is broken and it is soldered.  I will definitely take it to a specialist.

Thank you
