Hi,
I own an HP 550-158NF with i5 cpu and 4Go DDR3 ram in stock.
I purchased a 16gb kit (2x8gb) from Patriot memory to upgrade my desktop, as it is supposed to be the maximum acceptable refering to the above link.
When I plug the new memory modules, desktop refused to start with 3 long bips and 2 short. I tried pluging only one module, in different places, same error bips.
It is supposed to be compatible so I don't understand why it doesn't work.
Thank you all for your support!

Hi:
I believe the memory you installed didn't work for two reasons...
1. The voltage is incorrect. Needs to be 1.35V (DDR3L)
2. The timing numbers aren't what the specs are for the standard DDR3L memory chip your PC uses.
The memory you bought is 10-10-10. Needs to be 11-11-11
I recommend you return the memory you bought and get this compatible memory from Crucial.
As you can see on the bottom of the webpage, it is supposed to be 100% compatible with your PC.

You're very welcome.
The main reason the memory didn't work, was the voltage.
If you look at the memory upgrade information on your PC's specs page, it indicates DDR3L/PC3L which means low voltage (1.35v).
