Product: HP 790-0109
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I JUST ran a crucial ram test on this computer, it has 16GB.    Crucial tells me i can put 128GB of ram in this computer for $500.

Would the price be worth the increase in performance

If you look at the section titled "Memory upgrade information" it shows supports up to 32 GB (unbuffered) and 64GB unbuffered (with 16GB DIMMs) on 64-bit computers.

 

I have found that Crucial Memory has been stating the maximum is more than HP, lately.  You should go by what HP has in their specifications.  I would say that 16 GB or 32 GB would be far more than you will need unless you use CAD design software.  The fastest memory is DDR4-2666.  I don't believe that you would see much difference by going higher than 16 GB.
