HP 705 G4

Hello,

we have several HP 705 G4 mini and recently after a power blackout, we encountered an issue with an IP address conflict.

192.168.0.10 is the IP address from our new exchange server and after the blackout, we had trouble with this IP address. After some troubleshooting we figured out, that the IP address is coming from one of the HP 705 G4 computers. However, the computer was powered off. 

So we unplugged the network cable and solved the problem, but then 192.168.0.10 was coming from the next HP 705 G4. Therefore, we unplugged all our HP 705 G4 and then the Exchange server was working, finally. 

We are still having the problem after rebooting the Exchange Server. Only if any HP 705 G4 is powered off during that time.

 

We figured out, if the IP 192.168.0.10 is available and the HP 705 G4 is powered off during that moment, than the network card will take the IP address.

We are using the BIOS from March 02.10.02 Rev.A and we are still having the problem.

 

If you want to try, if you also have the problem:

- Directly connect your computer or laptop to any HP 705 G4 which has no power (unplug the power cord!)

- Give yourself 192.168.0.50/24 as IP address

- Plug in the power cord from the HP 705 G4

- Try to ping 192.168.0.10

 

Has anyone encountered this problem? We don’t have any fix from HP yet. We will probably end up separating our server and client network...
