touchscreen on HP Pavilion 23 is bleeding pink or purple on right side

Is screen bleeding on right edge a software issue or do I need to replace the touchscreen?

Probably not a software issue.

Probably a hardware issue.

 

Colours on a screen are "additive". It mixes the 3 primary colours to get "white". If one of the 3 colours is not working, then pink/purple is a likely result.
