upgrading gaming card

wondering if i can put a NVIDIA- GeForce GTX 970 4gb game card in my system?

i am not really a computer person so simplicity would be nice.

Why did you not state the exact model number?  Were you just following the "Example shown in the box" ? 🤔  It is difficult to answer when the xxx is unknown.  The HP 595 series used the LINCS motherboard.  That is a HP proprietary design.  A normal ATX PSU will not fit. The GTX 970 is a 6 year old card. Depending on the manufacturer of said card, which you did not specify, it could need between 145W and 250W of added power.  Some GTX 970's ship with the need for 2 PCIe 6 pin power ports, some with an 8 pin power port requirement.  Did you model ship with either the 180W or 310W PSU?   Either way, your going to spend another $75-$110 for the correct Power Supply.


Now I really have to challenge you.  Why did you pick a GTX 970 (circa 2014)? Was it based on a game play?  Or price?   The GTX 1070 equal in power needs, but a better performer.
