Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

I have a HP Pavillion laptop.  I bought it a few weeks ago.  Originally I could see the little icon at the bottom

showing how much battery was left.  I could know when to charge it up.  The past couple days the icom is no longer

there.  Is there something I can do to restore it?
