HP Recommended
All-In-One Desktop 23.8 touch screen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just bought this All-in-one Desktop 23''touch screen and it is running very slow.....like, it reminds me of dial up slow. Even simple things like touching a folder or app on the screen. I purchased this computer for home/office/and to home school my daughter so i need it 10x faster then this. Should I return it? Any feedback is much appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I have a few steps to identify and resolve the issue:

Common causes of slow system performance:

  • Not enough free disk space or disk errors.

  • Applications that require a lot of system resources.

  • Too many tasks running at the same time.

  • Nonessential graphic features.

  • Not enough memory.

  • Overheating due to intensive graphic applications or dust in vents.

  • Running multiple instances of anti-virus software.

Turning off nonessential graphical features to improve system performance

Graphical features and programs can use a lot of system resources.

Turning off these features can improve system performance.

This section explains how to adjust visual effects for best performance and how to disable Windows Aero.

The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks!

Have a great day!

A 23" touch should be pretty quick. The 20" ones are pretty low specc'd.

Perhaps run extensive tests on it (Tap F2 when powering on) and see if anything fails.

But otherwise if it's brand new and not performing to your expectations, I'd take it back.
