HP M27h FHD Monitor

Product
76D13AA
I can't find in the User Manuals for either this monitor or the computer specified under Product Name whether or not all three ports can be connected so that a choice can be made between them. From the beginning I've had problems with both of the HDMI ports (black screen of death, display freezes) and have switched to the VGA port. Now I'm wondering if I should buy the UBS c cable and connect to the DisplayPort for speeding up the connection..

@Bob_OPS, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

You can connect all three ports (HDMI, VGA, USB-C) to the monitor, but you have to manually switch between them in the monitor's settings. It won’t automatically switch for you.

HDMI problems (black screen, freezing) could be due to:

Faulty cables

Outdated drivers (make sure your drivers are up to date)

Monitor settings or even a damaged port

USB-C (DisplayPort) connection is a good choice if you want better performance. It can offer higher speeds and better display quality than HDMI or VGA.

What to try next:

  1. Use a USB-C to DisplayPort cable for better performance.
  2. Check the HDMI and VGA cables for damage.
  3. Update your graphics drivers if you haven't already.
  4. Reset the monitor to factory settings in case the issue is with its configuration.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
