HP ProDesk 400 gG3 MT Business PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP ProDesk 400 G3 MT Business PC with Windows 7 Pro (64-bit) and I'm trying to upgrade it with Media Creation Tool 1909.

The Creation Tool runs, and after my computer restarts comes with an error 0x8007042B - 0x300D (The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an erro during MIGRATE_DATA operation).

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi:

Assuming there is a W10 Pro product key in the BIOS, if the upgrade isn't working, the only suggestion I can offer would be to clean install W10.

You can do that by creating bootable installation media with the media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Or you can use the HP cloud recovery client tool to create a bootable recovery drive.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp85001-85500/sp85318.exe

I have zipped up and attached the information below for how to use the cloud recovery client utility.

If you don't know if the PC has a W10 product key in the BIOS, I have zipped up and attached a free utility below that will show you if there is a W10 product key in the BIOS.
