HD on All-in-One HP ENVY 27-p001nl TouchSmart
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I'm trying to replace the SSD HD with a new one bigger. I created the recovery media, i replaced the HD (the bios find the new devices) but the recovery procedure fail. I tried several time with no success.

I also tried tho clone the original HD (clonezilla), Windows reboot while is loading.

I also tried to install Ubuntu, the setup process fail.

Is there some protection that prevent the HD replacement ?

@DipsspiD If the recovery media isn't working, the creation wasn't accurate or interrupted, the best way forward is to get yourself an HP Recovery media using the steps mentioned here or the HP Cloud recovery using the details listed here,

If that doesn't work either, ensure secure boot is turned off using the F10 key during the restart of the PC to access BIOS, and if nothing helps, please run an extensive hardware test on the device using the below steps:

  • Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  • Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  • On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
  • Click Extensive Test.
  • Click Run once, or Loop until error.
  • While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.

If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.
