Hi @SUSIEZ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your computer and HP OfficeJet 4655 All-In-One printer cannot find each other, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Check the connection: Make sure both the printer and the computer are properly connected to the same network. Verify that the printer is turned on and connected to Wi-Fi, and that your computer is also connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Restart both devices: Power off the printer and computer completely. After a few seconds, turn them back on and allow them to boot up fully. Sometimes, a simple restart can help establish a connection.
- Update printer drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model (OfficeJet 4655), and download and install the latest drivers for your operating system.
- Disable firewall or antivirus: Temporary disable any firewall or antivirus software on your computer. Sometimes, these security measures can block the printer from being recognized on the network. If the connection works after disabling the firewall or antivirus, you can adjust the settings to allow the printer's communication.
- Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP provides a free tool called "HP Print and Scan Doctor" that can diagnose and resolve common printer connection issues. Download and run this utility from the HP support website, and follow the on-screen instructions to troubleshoot the problem.
- Reset network settings on the printer: On your printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless or network settings. Look for an option to reset network settings or restore defaults. Perform this reset and then try to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Check network configuration: Verify that your Wi-Fi network is functioning properly. Ensure that other devices can connect to the network without any issues. If necessary, restart your router or modem to reset the network settings.
- Reinstall the printer software: If none of the above steps work, you can try uninstalling the printer software from your computer and reinstalling it. Go to the Control Panel or Settings on your computer, locate the printer software, and uninstall it. Then, download the latest software from the HP support website and install it again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
