Hi @Anaxixo

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that—being stuck on the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics screen with no clear way out can feel incredibly limiting. Let’s walk through a few steps to help you exit safely and regain control.

Steps to Exit HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)

1. Use Keyboard Commands

  • Press the Esc key once. If that doesn’t work, try F10.
  • These keys typically trigger an exit or return to the main diagnostics menu.

2. Force Shutdown

  • Press and hold the power button for 10–15 seconds until the system powers off completely.
  • Wait a few seconds, then power it back on. This should bypass the diagnostics screen and attempt a normal boot.

3. Clear CMOS (if stuck repeatedly)

If the system keeps returning to diagnostics:

  • Power off and unplug the device.
  • Open the side panel (if it's a desktop) and locate the CMOS battery (a coin-sized silver battery).
  • Remove it carefully for 5 minutes, then reinsert and reboot. This resets BIOS settings and may clear the diagnostics loop.

4. Check Boot Order in BIOS

  • On startup, press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  • Navigate to Boot Options and ensure the primary boot device is set to your system drive—not the diagnostics partition.
  • Save changes and exit.

I’m truly sorry for the disruption this has caused—especially when everything else seems to be working fine. Let me know how far you get, and I’ll guide you further if needed.
