Please can anyone help? Our desktop PC crashed the other day.  Not entirely sure why.  Keep trying a System Restore or a Factory Reset option but after so long it reverts back to an error message and then reboots on a cycle.

When trying a System Recovery we get the PFN_LIST_CORRUPT message.  When trying a Factory Reset we keep getting the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL message.  Also the PC will only get as far as the System Recovery screen if we leave a windows recovery memory stick in a USB drive. Without that it keeps saying it cant find a boot drive or similar message.

Have tried the HP Virtual assistant but either can't get to the screens they are talking about or the solutions just keep going around in circles.

Any ideas please before the PC goes out of the actual window? !!!

Hi:

I see that HP has the cloud recovery tool info link on your PC model series' support page.

If you have access to another Windows PC running W7 64 bit or newer, and a 32 GB USB flash drive, you can make a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7) | HP® Customer Support

If you still run into the same issues with the recovery USB drive, you can also use the Microsoft media creation tool to create installation media to clean install W10.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
