Can anyone tell me what the latests BIOS version is for a G72t-boo, mine is Hewlett-Packard F.47, 2/15/2011, I can't believe that is the latest version. I am running Windows 10 and am having a problem installing the latest MS update.

Updating a BIOS always involves an element of risk, especially when you may not be doing it in a UEFI environment.
The download comes directly from a link in the suport page of your notebook and is from an HP server. The sopftpaq file is a safe one.
The driver download page

So, no I cannot unequivocally state that updating your notebook's BIOS won't render it useless.
