HP 270-a016 SLOW WiFi

HP Slimline Desktop 270-a016
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought this desktop last November.  The wifi connection has been terrible from day one.  For exampler, I just tested the internet connection speed of every other device in my house.  Everything from a 7 year-old Dell laptop running windows 10, to several 4 year old Samsung tablets to several phones, some as old as 3 years and they ALL are getting better than 25mb download speeds from their wifi connections on my home network.  This desktop NEVER gets better than 7-8MB and it usually gets less than 5MB download speeds (and often not even 1/2 of that).   I have logged into my wireless router and played with all sorts of settings on there looking to better match the wifi connection between this PC (I've played with the PC wifi settngs too) and the wifi router, but I've had no luck.  I am computer literate (I'm in IT support) and I've made sure this PC has all updates (as well as the router).  Has anyone else experienced the slow wifi connection with this model and if so, did you find a solution?
