HP All-in-One - 22-df0128t
Microsoft Windows 11

When I have to turn off my All-In-One and unplug it, I have problems starting it up again.  Message: Check sum invalid.  Bios are supposedly up to date.  Have run the HP troubleshooters.  No help.   Windows troubleshooter show everything working right.  After two or three restarts everything starts working right and stays right until the next time I have to unplug.  Have had the computer almost 2 1/2 years.  Is it time to replace the motherboard battery?  Prefer to do it myself if possible.  Anyone had the same experience?

Did you save the CMOS settings?   If not, then boot into the CMOS setup and change the time by a few seconds and then save.

This is unusual.  Those CMOS batteries last 2-10 years but 2 is extreme.  Usually every 5 years replacement is recommended.  Possibly leaving the system unplugged (not just turned off) may have shortened the battery life.

There is a video here that show how to get access and 27 seconds into this one shows the proper replacement

BeemerBiker appreciate your reply.  Watched the video.  I still think the problem may be the battery but I want to make sure I have exhausted all other possible options before taking apart the computer.  I am deep in the woods of northern Maine far away from any HP repair services so have to fend for myself as best I can, and having a working computer is crucial.  As long as I keep the computer plugged in to a power supply (plugged into backup battery for power failures) it is fine.  But if I unplug even for 15 minutes the "Checksum invalid" comes up again and signing in and out of Windows 11 is problematic.

Am going to make a list of all possible things I can do to sort this, then go through one by one.  If anyone has suggestions please let me know.  Thank you.
