Prodesk 600 G5 MT
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Today I bought an HP ProDesk 600 G5 MT. To be on the safe side, I wanted to create a USB stick with the HP Cloud Recovery Tool. But unfortunately the message Product-ID is invalid. According to the HP site https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/CloudRecovery/crsupportedplatform.html, the device is compatible. Where is the problem?

Hi:

I believe that you are using the wrong tool.

You need to use the one for HP business-class PC's, which can be found on your PC's support page.

You enter the serial number of your PC with that tool...

hi

If this is the problem, the document must be modified
If we click on the document given by the user
https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/CloudRecovery/crsupportedplatform.html

the Back to Cloud Recovery User Guide link
it is indicated if you want to download the software
To download the recovery software, go to Cloud Recovery Client. If you are prompted with a choice to run or save the file, click Run.
the sp110846.exe is given

out from the given page we have here
https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/CloudRecovery/crsupportedplatform.html
Download Cloud Recovery Client
sp113100.exe

Hi, @Prométhée

I don't understand what you mean.

When I click on the link I posted and download the file, I get sp113100.

When I run the file, it also tells me it is sp113100.

That is the file on the Prodesk 600 G5 MT support page, under the Security software section.

I answered his question...

Why did the recovery tool not work?

A.  Because he used the wrong one.  Need to use the one for HP business PC's and I gave him the link to the file, which I stated was on the support page.

It doesn't get any simpler than that.

I don't understand why you seem to post the same answer in a different way on many of my posts.

It makes no sense.

Yeah, then you don't understand that I just indicated
"If this is the problem, the document must be modified"

Because the document given by the user, gives two different versions, probably for that he did not succeed

When you click on the download link on the document in the original post...it downloads the same file I posted (sp113100).

HP Cloud Recovery

I have no idea why he got the one for the consumer PC's.

If you install sp113100, it brings up a different window where the user is asked to enter the serial number of the PC, not the product number.

Bottom line...I answered the question.  No need to say the same thing differently.  At least I don't think so.

Many Thanks. It worked with the HP Cloud Recovery Client. If you have to reset it, is it the same as in the delivery state, with all the HP software?

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

Yes, the Cloud recovery client utility-created recovery drive is supposed to reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with the PC.

Inside the file are the instructions for use, which I attached below.

To install the software, see the instructions on pages 10 and 11.
