HP Envy Desktop PC Model # TE01-3254 will not boot, even after replacing power supply and RAM

Hi @Garymarm

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Is the PC in warranty?

What happens when you depress the power button using either the factory parts or the replacement parts? Has anything changed since replacing those components?

Anything happening in either scenario, fans spinning or any LED activity anywhere (front panel, MB, rear power supply)?

Have you tried onboard graphics if you have a discrete graphics card installed?

The MB or the {CPU (very unusual)} could be cooked if nothing happens when hitting the power button.

Clear all USB ports. Only connect a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

Generally (it is always possible to obtain a bad replacement part) no change in behavior when replacing components suggests you have a different component problem.

Regards

Thanks for your reply.

The fans spin for a moment then stop, then the LED power light on the front flashes once, that's all!

That is what the computer was doing originally.

The PC is just out of warranty. 14 months.

No discrete graphics card installed.

Nothing is plugged in except keyboard and mouse. Even if I unplug the keyboard and mouse the same thing mentioned above happens.

Hi @Garymarm

My pleasure.

You have replaced the power supply and RAM. You have also started the PC with no peripherals connected to the system.

On the basis the new RAM is compatible with your MB it looks like you may have a MB or CPU problem. CPU failures are rare but can happen.

Have you tried the factory RAM in each memory slot when using the new power supply?

Try disconnecting the M.2 SSD and the M.2 WIFI card to see what happens.

Finding the bad part is a process of elimination.

Have a local PC Tech check the PC.

Regards
